Radeberger Gruppe Italia expands its portfolio with Tynt Meadow, the first authentic English Trappist beer

A unique reference that enriches the company’s specialty offering, bringing to Italy one of the most original and rare expressions of the international brewing scene.

Radeberger Gruppe Italia announces the addition to its portfolio of Tynt Meadow, the first and only authentic Trappist beer produced in England, crafted by the monks of Mount St Bernard Abbey in Leicestershire. With this new collaboration, the company continues its journey of development and enhancement of distinctive brands, further expanding a range already rich in international brewing excellence and offering the Italian market a reference with an extraordinarily unique profile.

Born in 2018 within Mount St Bernard Abbey, this beer represents a rare encounter between Trappist monastic tradition and English brewing tradition. The Abbey, founded in 1835 on land called Tynt Meadow, stands near Coalville, on the edge of Charnwood Forest, in a landscape of rocks, woods and fields that changes face with the passing of the seasons. Here daily life continues to follow essential rhythms of prayer, manual work and welcoming visitors, a balance that is still reflected today in the authentic identity of Tynt Meadow. The monastic community, which for generations has sustained its activity through agriculture and livestock farming, chose brewing as a natural evolution of its work, giving life to a beer capable of expressing authenticity, craftsmanship and territorial identity. The addition of Tynt Meadow confirms Radeberger Gruppe Italia’s commitment to offering HORECA channel professionals and enthusiasts products with a strong story to tell, capable of standing out for quality, origin and cultural value.
The available range will include:
  • Tynt Meadow English Trappist Ale (7.4% vol.), a beer with an intense mahogany colour and persistent head. It presents notes of dark chocolate, liquorice, dried fruit, roasted coffee powder and spices. Perfect paired with red meats, blue cheeses and desserts based on coffee and dark chocolate.
  • Tynt Meadow English Trappist Blond (5.0% vol.), a fresher and more drinkable version, characterised by floral aromas, citrus notes and a delicately hopped finish. It pairs well with white meats, medium-aged cow’s and sheep’s cheeses.

“With the arrival of Tynt Meadow we are adding to our portfolio a reference of great prestige and uniqueness. Its story, the strong connection with Trappist tradition and its English origin make it a proposition capable of further enriching our offering and generating interest both among industry operators and among enthusiasts seeking authentic experiences.”

Produced within Mount St Bernard Abbey by a community of 17 monks, Tynt Meadow represents one of the most fascinating realities of the contemporary brewing world: a beer that unites spirituality, manual work and attention to quality, keeping alive the most authentic meaning of Trappist tradition.

The arrival of Tynt Meadow also fits into the beer culture dissemination journey promoted by Quality Beer Academy, the project dedicated to training and enhancing quality in the world of beer. A reality like Mount St. Bernard Trappist Abbey, with its unique history and deep connection with European monastic culture, represents an important opportunity to explore one of the most fascinating chapters of the international brewing scene.
