The Pils beer style is characterized by its herbal taste and the pleasant sensation of freshness it leaves on the palate, but how was it born? Its history begins in Bohemia and reaches Germany where, in 1872, the first German Pilsner beer was produced.<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Not everyone knows the history of the Pils beer style. Its birth took place in 1842 in Plzen, Bohemia<\/b>, now the Czech Republic, following an event that influenced the choice of master brewers. Due to a particularly hot year and some contamination of the yeasts used, the beer took on too strong a flavor and became impossible to consume.Medieval master brewers knew the techniques for beer production well, but decided to ask German brewer Josef Groll for help in preparing a new type of beer.The use of local water\u2014soft and with few mineral salts\u2014combined with the presence of malt and Saaz hops\u2014a hop variety with a delicate and slightly spicy aroma\u2014gave the new beverage a taste and composition never achieved before.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

But it was in 1872 that the Pils beer style truly met Germany<\/b>. In that year, in fact, a group of men set out from Radeberg<\/b> to discover new beer styles to offer in their brewery. Upon arriving in Plzen, they discovered the Pilsner and were delighted. Analyzing the water source used to make it, they realized it had the same characteristics as the waters present in Saxony, thus concluding that they too could produce this beer.The ingredients used remained the same, replacing Bohemian hops with German hops, thus giving birth to Radeberger Pilsner<\/b>.
It is also said that this beer was the favorite not only of German Chancellor Otto Von Bismarck, but also of the Duke of Saxony!<\/i><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
